The Axiom Apex Series
The Apex Series features our distinctive outward-facing tone field dimples, giving the instrument a unique playing feel and tonal character. Unlike a traditional inward-dimpled handpan, the Apex design allows each note to respond differently depending on where and how it is played. Striking the raised apex distributes energy more evenly across the tone field, producing a softer attack with a warm, rounded voice. Playing directly on the surrounding membrane brings out a more familiar handpan articulation with additional presence and definition. The result is an expressive instrument with a warm tonal character, smooth response, and multiple ways to explore each note.
